Report a Claim:
If you have been in a collision you need to get the names and addresses of witnesses and the particulars about the other driver(s) and vehicle(s), including the driver’s licence and licence plate number(s). Next, report your collision to SGI. You have two options; either report your claim on line at SGI’s Auto eClaim registration service at www.sgi.sk.ca or call SGI’s Dial-a-Claim service at the claims centre that is most convenient to you. Have your own driver’s licence, vehicle registration and if you have one, your auto extension policy number available when you make your report.
Either way, an appointment will be set up for you to have your vehicle appraised and the damage assessed provided that your vehicle is driveable. If your vehicle is not driveable, make arrangements with your adjuster to have your vehicle towed to a location where the damage can be appraised. Make sure to note this in either your eClaim or Dial-a-Claim report.
Collisions involving injury, death, hit and run, an impaired driver, vehicles that have to be towed from the scene or an out-of-province vehicle must also be reported to the police. Obtain the police report number and the badge number of the officer making the report.
For further information on the auto claim process, please refer to the You and Your Auto Claim brochure available at our office or any SGI Claims Centre or by visiting www.sgi.sk.ca.
