Photo Drivers Licence and ID:

Saskatchewan has a two part driver’s licence. Part one is a paper certificate and part two is a photo card. All drivers must have both parts for their driver’s licence to be valid.

A photo identification card is available for all residents of Saskatchewan regardless of whether or not the individual is a licenced driver.

Drivers and non-drivers can have their photo taken at our offices in Saskatoon or Dundurn. It takes three to five days for an individual to receive their photo ID card in the mail. If you need faster service, SGI will process the ID card immediately and arrangements can be made to pick up the card in Saskatoon or Regina, or to have it sent by courier the same day.

Individuals need to bring two valid pieces of ID displaying their name, full date of birth and signature to be eligible for the photo identification card. Make sure that the names on both pieces of ID are exactly the same. Examples of valid ID include a birth certificate, passport, Saskatchewan Health card, drivers licence from another Canadian jurisdiction, etc.

The photo ID card is free of charge for individuals with a valid Saskatchewan driver’s licence. There is a $10.00 charge for a replacement photo ID card. Non-drivers and drivers who require same day service will also be charged $10.00.
