Payment Options:
Registration renewals can be completed online. Only vehicles that are due for renewal or that have expired within the last 12 months will be available for renewal excluding commercially plated vehicles. SGI offers the following three payment options when registering your vehicle:
1. Annual basis
2. Continuous basis - AutoPay
3. Short term basis
If you choose to pay on an annual basis while visiting one of our motor licence issuing offices, you may pay by cash, cheque, debit card or credit card. If you go on line using the SGI Online Services button to the left, you may pay by credit card. Registration renewals can be completed online as long as the plate has not been expired for longer than 12 months.
If you choose to pay on a continuous basis you will initially need to set up an AutoPay account at one of our offices. Bring a void cheque or your account information from your bank signed by an authorized bank representative. AutoPay allows you the option of making automatic monthly payments, giving you more flexibility to budget your funds. After making an initial payment, monthly payments will be withdrawn on the day you select. This option may also be attractive for seasonally licenced vehicles. When renewing your vehicle, you may complete the renewal declaration process at one of our motor licence issuing offices or by clicking on the SGI Online Services button to the left. Registration renewals can be completed online as long as the plate has not been expired for longer than 12 months.
If you choose a short-term basis, you choose your own term and make a payment that is affordable to you. Short-term registration may be used for seasonally licenced vehicles, like motorhomes, motorcycles, antiques or grain trucks. Registration terms can be as short as 28 days. You may pay for your short-term registration while visiting our office by using cash, cheque, debit card or credit card. If you go on line using the SGI Online Services button to the left, you may pay by credit card. Registration renewals can be completed online as long as the plate has not been expired for longer than 12 months.
